This homemade Garlic Rosemary Bread features a golden, crackly crust and a soft, airy interior, blending the robust flavors of garlic and fresh rosemary. It's perfect for weeknight dinners, combining beautifully with soups, salads, or as a side to roasted meats. Showcasing a wonderfully fragrant aroma, this bread transforms any meal into a special occasion and is deceptively simple to make, even for novice bakers.
Activate the yeast in warm water and let it get foamy for about 5 minutes.
Combine the flour and salt in a large bowl and whisk them evenly.
Mix the foamy yeast, olive oil, minced garlic, and chopped rosemary into the flour.
Stir until a shaggy dough begins to form.
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 10 minutes until it feels smooth and elastic.
Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it puff up in a warm spot for about an hour, until doubled.
Shape the risen dough into a round loaf and place it on your baking sheet.
Cover the loaf again and let it rise for another 30 minutes while your oven preheats.
Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
Score the top of the loaf with a sharp knife and bake for 30-35 minutes until beautifully golden brown.
Cool the bread on a wire rack for at least 15 minutes before slicing into warm, fragrant pieces.
