JoinRecipeis an independent recipe site. The idea behind it is simple: most of us decide what to cook in the ten minutes before we start, so a recipe should answer "can I make this tonight?" immediately — ingredients you can scan, numbered steps, and honest timings, without a long story in front of the method.
I started JoinRecipe because of the same problem I had every evening: standing in front of an open fridge at six o'clock, knowing roughly what was in there, with no idea what to make from it. Most recipe sites are organised around dishes you already know the name of. I wanted one organised around the constraints you actually have — the twenty minutes, the one pan, the chicken thighs that need using tonight.
So that is how this site is built. Every recipe is written to be scanned before it is read: ingredients in the order you use them, numbered steps, and timings I am willing to stand behind. I review each one by hand before it publishes — quantities, method, and whether the steps genuinely get you to the finished dish. Nothing goes live automatically. When a reader tells me something is wrong, fixing it goes to the top of the list that day.
Recipes are organised so you can arrive with a constraint rather than a dish in mind. Browse by meal, cuisine, main ingredient, diet, or total time, or open one of the collections for a shortlist that has already been narrowed down.
Every recipe is reviewed by hand before it goes live. Nothing publishes automatically: a recipe is only released once the ingredient list, quantities, steps, and timings read correctly and the method is complete enough to follow start to finish.
Where a recipe is adapted from another source, we rewrite it into this site's format for consistency. If you spot a mistake — a missing ingredient, a wrong temperature, a step out of order — please tell us and we will correct it. Corrections are treated as a priority, not a nice-to-have.
Star ratings on recipe pages are submitted by people who cooked them, and reviews are moderated before appearing to keep out spam. We do not remove a review because it is critical, and we do not add ratings ourselves.
JoinRecipe is free to read and funded by advertising. Ads are served by a third-party network and are marked as such; they never determine which recipes get published or how a recipe is rated. See our Privacy Policy for what advertising partners collect.
Corrections, questions, and partnership enquiries all reach a real person at hello@joinrecipe.com. If you are writing about a specific recipe, include the link and we will get to it faster. You can also browse the FAQ for the questions we get most.
